![]() The rich, pure and powerful voices of both these artists shone on each and every song. Simeone’s eclectic vocal range brought new and soulful feelings to everything from “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” to the spiritually uplifting “Ave Maria” and a tearful “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Meringolo breezed easily from double entendre “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” (duet with Barry Levitt) to novelty “It’s Christmas and We’re Jewish” - Mazel-toe! Songwriter Karen Benedetto, in the audience, was paid tribute with “I’m Giving Love This Christmas” as Meringolo explained how “it beats shopping online and is something you don’t need to exchange.” The nimble fingers and talents of musical director Barry Levitt, joined by the great Boots Maleson on bass and Brian Woodruff on drums completed the package. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year. . .” Savor the spirit!
