Craig PomranzThe Break-up ShowThe Pheasantry
|
||
![]() The highlights were the more intense songs of the night — a truly beautiful “These Foolish Things (Remind Me of You),” “It Never Entered my Mind” full of internal pathos, an intensely moving version of the definitive break-up song, “Where Do You Start?,” and “Love Walked In” bringing the show full circle. By far, the best moment was an intense and incredibly moving “My Eyes Adored You.” I have to admit I never really liked it, but Pomranz shed a new light on it, and we actually heard the lyrics anew. I love Pomranz’s tone, whether it’s his lyric falsetto, his warm, rich and breathy lower register or his “comedy” voice. He’s a master at his craft, and it was clear the audience appreciated his talents, both as a singer and a storyteller. I look forward to his next London visit. Harold Sanditen |
